Building a strength routine you will still follow in six months

Start smaller than you think, progress slowly and plan for missed weeks.

The best strength routine is the one you will still follow in six months. Start smaller than you think and focus on showing up.

Keep it simple

Two or three sessions a week with a handful of basic movements, such as squats, pushes, pulls and carries, cover most needs. Learn good form before adding weight.

Plan for missed weeks

Life gets in the way. Decide in advance what a minimum session looks like, so a busy week becomes a short workout rather than no workout.
