A passkey replaces a password with a key stored on your device and unlocked with your fingerprint, face or PIN. There is nothing to type, so there is nothing to steal through a fake login page.
How to switch
Start with your most important accounts: email, banking and your phone’s cloud account. Look for a passkeys option in the security settings and keep your old sign-in method until the passkey works.
If you lose your phone
Passkeys usually sync through your phone’s cloud account, so a replacement device can restore them. Set up recovery options and a second device before you rely on passkeys alone.
