Starting seeds indoors gives you a head start on the season, but a windowsill is rarely bright enough. Weak, leggy seedlings are almost always a light problem.
Timing
Check the seed packet for the number of weeks before the last frost and count back. Sowing too early usually produces plants that outgrow their pots before they can go outside.
A simple setup
A basic LED grow light a few centimetres above the seedlings, a fan on low for sturdier stems and bottom watering to prevent damping off are enough for most home growers.
